Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the promotion of tourism related activities helps in strengthening the national economy and it also helps to move the country on the road to progress and prosperity.
In his message on International Day of Tourism, the Chief Minister said that the tourism helps increase human knowledge and enhances intellectual ken. There is tremendous potential of growth and progress in tourism sector in Pakistan and new opportunities of employment and income can be created by promoting tourism at the grassroots.
He said the purpose of celebrating international day of tourism is aimed at promoting tourism, searching the new tourist spots, preservation of heritage along with protection of the tourists and provision of basic facilities in the tourist areas.
He said that Pakistan is included in the list of countries which are rich with natural beauty along with opportunities of religious tourism and presence of historical monuments.
Pakistan is a country which is full of natural beauties and it has also been a centre of cultures and ancient civilizations since long.
Pakistan provides unique opportunities to the tourists from across the globe to enjoy world’s most beautiful natural sceneries and tourism of age-old human civilization.
The Chief Minister said that effective measures have been adopted by the government to develop the tourist spots besides promotion of tourism as it is a key factor in improving the economy.
Every sort of resources will be materialized to make this sector an active part of the national economy so that it could be exploited in the larger interest of the country.
