Time and tide wait for none

Syed Najaf Raza

No one is so powerful that he can stop the march of time’ – this is what the phrase ‘time and tide wait
for none’ means. Time is very demanding. It does not stand still even for the fraction of a second. A lost second is a lost second. Time is never ending. So it is best to make the best use of the time we have. Opportunities will not wait for us nor will they come again. The success of life depends upon making use of the time to its best advantage. Slackness on our part may cost us heavily. Timely and prompt action can gain a lot. Therefore, as time and tide waits for nobody, we must make use of them whenever they present themselves. “Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back. Yes, it’s sure and certain that time is like a river. As the current of the river flows ahead and never comes back. Same is with time. Once lost it can’t be regained. It’s truly said that, “Don’t count every hour in the day, make every hour in the day count.” we have to be very punctual and studious in our lives about time. The whole world runs along with it, if anyone lags behind, he surely will be described as a loser in his life. Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time. Time is like money. Every day, hour, minute, second is precious for us. As we spend money wisely, in the same way our time should be spent very cautiously.
