Tharparkar to get two power plants

Islamabad—Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will lay foundation stone of two power plants of 660 megawatt in Tharparkar, Sindh, today (Monday).
Divisional Commission Mirpur Khas, Shafiq Ahmed Mehasar told Radio Pakistan Hyderabad correspondent Noor Hussain Chand that 660 megawatt electricity would be generated from Thar coal plants.
He said the power plants have been installed at Thar Coal Block-II at one hundred acre land near Butra village.
On the other hand Sindh government spokesman told Radio Pakistan Hyderabad correspondent that 15,000 megawatt electricity will be generated from Thar Coal by 2025 and in this regard the work on Thar Coal has been accelerated with the support of federal government. Nawaz Sharif visits Karachi today to review law and order situation in the city in the backdrop of on going Rangers operation against law breakers.
