Provincial Minister for Education, Health, Population Welfare and Women development, Dr Saadia Virk Rizvi said major problem behind the debacle of government education system in Sindh is the recruitment of untrained teachers in the past.
These teachers are burden on our system and they must be trained as well as equipped with the latest trends and techniques to recover the loss.
She was presiding over a meeting of Education Department regarding teachers training program at her office here on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Secretary School Education Madam Aalia Shahid, Secretary Collage Education Lubna Sallah uddin, Project Director Reform Support unit Dr Muhammad Soomro, and the representatives of Provincial Institute of Teachers Education (PITE), Sindh Teachers Education development Authority (STEDA), The Citizen foundation and others.
She said teachers played the pivotal role to nourish the children and they (Teacher) are role models for their students. Teachers must be filled with required useful trainings of capacity building and psychological workshops to handle the students more effectively and efficiently, she said, adding, these programs should be renewed time to time by the support of private institutions.
Dr Saadia Rizvi also said we also need to analyze the reasons behind the escalating rate of dropouts, especially in female students. Our prime objective is to provide equal standard in government schools as compare to private institutes, she added.
