TDPs return moving ahead successfully

Peshawar—Federal government’s plan to ensure safe and dignified return of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) of FATA by end of current year is moving ahead successfully as 64 per cent displaced families have so far been repatriated to their native areas.
Out of 447,544 TDPs’ families verified by NADRA, a total of 285,405 families including 238,669 confirmed and 46,736 spontaneously registered had returned to their respective agencies under the arrangements made by the government, Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) Director General, Fayaz Ali Shah told APP. He said as many as 96,891 non-registered TDPs were also returned whereas the remaining 162,152 verified families would soon be repatriated.
While giving area-wise details of the TDPs, Shah said all the 36,759 verified families of Mohmand Agency and 72,895 of Bajaur Agency went back to their hometowns with 100% success rate. In Khyber Agency, the DG FDMA said 94 per cent verified families had returned to their native areas including Bara and Tirah valley.—APP
