System in place for joint monitoring of National Health Programme

A real-time management information system has been introduced for joint monitoring of PM’s National Health Programme (PMNHP) and to facilitate 100 million population.
The Programme is a key steps towards universal health coverage with focus on population below poverty line.
Services have been started in 15 districts, covering around 3.1 million families in first phase.
According to National Health Services Division here on Saturday, after 18th Amendment in Constitution, the health sector stands devolved to provinces, however, Federal government continues to augment health sector.
The Federal Government, keeping in view the emerging healthcare demands throughout the country, has taken steps including resource generation and technical support which is being provided through various health development partners.
Giving instance, the Ministry said National Immunization Support Programme will strengthen and improve immunization coverage by providing technical and material support to provinces for up-gradation of warehouses and strengthening cold chain management.
National Programmes for TB, Malaria and HIV/AIDS are providing support for strengthening of health facilities by capacity building of relevant human resource, provision of equipment and supplies.—APP
