SWTP lying deserted

Abbottabad—The previous government had spent Rs 2.5 million for the construction of Solid Waste Treatment Plant (SWTP) in the city but after passing more than six years it is yet not functional. This was stated by Teshil Nazaim Abbottabad while talking to APP here on Saturday. He said that the city is facing critical issue of solid waste management. He further said that unfortunately the contractor Muhammad Ramazan did not install complete machinery, we have negotiated with him but he failed to fulfill his promises.
Muhammad Ishaq said we have decided to register FIR against Muhammad Ramzan contractor and his company Waste Buster for causing millions of rupees loss to the national exchequer.
Earlier, Tehsil Nazim Muhammad Ishaq, District Food Controller (DFC) Shad Muhammad along with police a jointly raided on a suspected soap plant near filth depot Salhad Abbottabad. The owner claimed for collecting fats from animal flesh for washing soap.
Thesil Nazim seized three drums of animal fat and samples have been sent for analysis and sealed the plant. Tehsil Nazim Muhammad Ishaq said that we have launched a campaign in Tehsil Abbottabad to make sure the provision of up to the mark standard food items, edible oil and medicines to the masses.—APP
