Recently, the Balochistan Health Minister Rehmat Saleh conducted a surprise visit at the Civil Sandeman Hospital Quetta and suspended some doctors and paramedics who do not bother to attend their duties. The absence of doctors is very annoying, due to this several patients are dying in the hospitals. Mostly, we have witnessed that doctors give precedence to their private hospitals, but never attend the government hospitals of their duty.
Although, they are receiving salaries each months still they give more times to their private clinics rather than the public hospitals and health centres. I appreciate the Health Minister for his surprise visit and request him to continue with the practice to clean up hospitals from black-sheep in medical profession. More strict action should be taken against the absentee doctors and paramedics from their assigned duties in the state-run hospitals and health centres.
