Strict monitoring drive of gun shops begins

Rawalpindi—Police department in Rawalpindi dis-trict is set to kick-off a strict drive of monitoring gun shops in Rawalpindi on regular basis in order to prevent the trade of illegal guns and ammunition.
According to police sources on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Abbasi, checking of the gun shops will be conducted in the jurisdictions of City, Cantonment, Wah Cantt, Taxila and Gujjar Khan police stations. Specially constituted police teams will check the stocks and make as well as hand written record on regular ba-sis.
SHO City Police Station, Mirza Yousaf told that the police teams to conduct the checking of seventeen gun shops in their jurisdiction on a daily basis to ensure that no weapon is sold to any unauthor-ized person which may be used in terrorist activities.—Agencies
