Following the government crackdown on the Faizabad protesters and the subsequent breakout of violence, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan said on Saturday that the country was burning and the state appeared to be losing its writ.
“Use of force won’t solve any problem,” he added. The PTI chief also appealed to the Tehreek-e-Labbaik protesters to remain peaceful.
Imran said Khatme Nabuwat was an integral part of the Muslims’ faith and the incompetent manner in which government handled the issue showed that it was losing its writ. He criticised the government for not taking timely action against those found guilty in the report prepared by a committee led by Senator Raja Zafarul Haq to investigate the controversial amendments to election laws.
