Sri Lanka captain and his wife thank Gurusinha for support in bad times

Sri Lanka captain Dinesh Chandimal and his wife, Isika Jayasekara, have thanked the team manager Asanka Gurusinha for extending support even during skipper’s bad time on Windies tour.
“With one of the best and qualitative human being.. we would say thank you everything that you have done for us.. Whatever, good time or bad time, you were with us….”, the captain’s wife has said on social media.
Obviously, the wife was referring to the recent ball tampering allegations as bad times for her husband, and for which the captain had to miss the third and final D/N Test in Barbados.
Chandimal could not become the part of the playing XI team which became the first Asian team to win the Test match in Barbados.
The completion of the Test series also brings end to Asanka Gurusinha’s managership.
“Asanka aiya we are wishing you all the very best in your future”, they have said to the outgoing manager.
Interestingly, the wife of Barbados winning captain (Suranga Lakmal) has also joined in wishing Gurusinha.
“Of course we will miss you Asanka aiya….”, Suranga Lakmal’s wife, Dilani, said. . –
Gurusinha is taking a new role with Sri Lanka cricket but won’t be traveling with the team Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board had allowed the wives and family members of the players and support staff on Windies tour. Lakmal couple have their son on this tour. The coach Chandika Hathurusinghe’s wife Shivika too joined them. Barbados Test finished one day earlier.
