Specialist doctors for better health care

Rawalpindi—At the inaugural ceremony of 32nd conference of Gastroenterology &Hepatology chief Guest General Mehmood Ahmed Akhtar and president Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Disease Dr. Saeed Qureshi urged the government to do more in the public health sector.
Prof. Waseem Jafri, prof. Saeed Hamid, Prof. Masood Siddque, prof. Aurungzeb Durrani, Brig Dr. Amjad Salamat, prof. Muzzafar Lateef Gill, Prof. Altaf Alam and other renowned doctors including Dr. Cihan Yurdaydin and prof. David Carr Locke participated in this conference.
The chief Guest General Mehmood Ahmed Akhtar spoke about liver and gastric diseases in detail. According to him Pakistan has achieved major advancement in the diagnosis and treatment of GID liver diseases.
Dr.Saeed Qureshi has spoke about problems young doctors faced during their training and called for their solution.
Prof. Dr. Amjad Salamat appreciated efforts of the organizing committee of the conference. Prof. Muzaffar Latif Gill talked about scientific programme being undertaken in Pakistan to make the treatment effective and affordable. He said national and international doctors, who are specialists in this field should focus on diagnosis and the treatment of diseases.
