The special children who have been studying at educational institutions for special children were given laptops under Chief Minister Punjab Scheme, here on Tuesday. The children said their dream of getting laptops had been fulfilled as they belonged to poor families and could not afford to purchase them.
A laptops distribution ceremony was held here under Shehbaz Sharif e-Youth Initiative-Taking Punjab To A Digital Force which was attended by Provincial Minister for Special Education, Chaudhary Muhammad Shafeeq, Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Naeem Khawar, Director Special Education, Ms. Shazia Hashmat, Commissioner Bahawalpur, Capt. (Retd) Saqib Zafar, parliamentarians and a large number of students.
The 199 special children were given laptops under the Chief Minister’s Scheme. Earlier, total 310,000 laptops had been distributed in three phases in the province by the Punjab government. Recently, Punjab government launched another phase of the scheme to distributed 115,000 laptops with the cost of Rs 07 billion.
Delivering his speech, Minister, Naeem Khawar said that credit went to the visionary leader and Chief Minister Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif who launched laptops distribution scheme to equip our students and youth with modern knowledge and skills.—APP
