Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Social Welfare and Irrigation Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has said that special children bestowed a number of capabilities and if these are used properly, they could play active role in the development of society.
Therefore, he said it is the responsibilities of all of us to create awareness among all sects of society to help jointly the special children living in our society. He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of first established Government Middle School for Blind at Rajar, District Charsadda. Special Assistant to CM on Technical Education Arshad Umerzia, MPA Sultan Muhammad Khan, Additional Secretary Social Welfare Department Aadil Shah, Director Muhammad Naeem, Principal of School Syed Ali Bakhsh and a number of blind students were present on the occasion.
Senior Minister said that a total 39 primary schools had already established in the province for special children but the provincial government under a comprehensive scheme was not only upgrading these educational institutes but higher education complex were being established at Divisional Headquarter under first phase where special children would get educational facilities from primary to inter level.
He said hostels would be established in the complex for special children coming from far flung areas. He said planning had been made for Braille Press so that books for blind children could be published.
