Lahore—Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja has directed the district administration to set up special cells for timely redressal of complaints of expatriate Pakistanis.
He was presiding over an important meeting of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC), Punjab in the Civil Secretariat. Commissioner OPC Afzaal Bhatti, Director General Hassan Iqbal, Additional DG Police Matters / DIG Ahmed Mubeen attended the meeting, while DCO and police high ups of Bahawalpur district participated through video link.
Shamail Khawaja said that the district level special cells would be closely connected with local police and other line departments so that the complaints of overseas Pakistanis could be disposed of well in time.
Commissioner OPC Afzaal Bhatti said that the sole purpose of formation of OPC by the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was to provide an effective platform to the expatriates for resolving their genuine problems at the grassroots. He further said that OPC is maintaining close liaison with provincial and district administration of the province so that the expatriate Pakistanis feel fully comforted. They are our global ambassadors and we would do everything to accommodate them.
Shamail Khawaja, while commending the efforts of OPC, said that Punjab Government is committed to provide full support and cooperation to the overseas Pakistanis in redressing of their genuine issues.
