Smuggled pigeons seized

Lahore—Teams constituted by DG Wildlife & Parks Punjab Khalid Ayaz Khan for the eradication of smuggling of wildlife and illegal hunting while taking action against three persons has recovered 30 thousand rupees as departmental fine from them whereas confiscated items have been destroyed.
According to the details, two persons Allah Ditta and Muhammad Anwar were catching birds through net at Rukan Post, border area of Kasur, upon which, Wildlife team with the help of Rangers Jawans took action against them and recovered 20 thousand rupees as departmental fine and the birds caught by them were released and the net destroyed.
In another incident, officers of Wildlife Department with the help of Customs Authorities took action at Allama Iqbal International Airport against Muhammad Arshad of Noshehra Virkan, district Gujranwala who was bringing 30 pigeons from Kuwait and presented him before Special Judicial Magistrate Cantt. The court ordered to receive 10 thousand rupees as departmental fine from the accused under Wildlife Act and send these pigeons to Wildlife Park Lahore.
