Smog engulfs twin cities, allergy patients advised to remain cautious


Allergy patients have been advised to remain cautious to avoid any complication as smog and fog have engulfed various areas of Rawalpindi district.
Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist at Benazir Bhutto Hospital Dr. Aslam Chaudhry talking to APP said that precaution is better than cure and advised the allergy patients to take precautionary measures as it can cause coughing, throat and chest irritation. Smog can irritate respiratory system particularly in allergy patients, he added.
He said the citizens, nowadays are facing allergy, sore throat, clogged nose, itching and other health complications due to the smog. He asked the citizens to use plenty of water in these days and sprinkle the water at homes to suck the dust.
He also advised the citizens to wear masks and goggles to avoid the effects of smog and allergy patients should avoid unnecessary exposure and stay at home particularly in morning and evening. He said that there is no need to get panic and frightened from smog.—APP
