Slain fighters’s funeral prayers offered

Thousands of mourners offered funeral prayers to the slain fighter, Mushtaq Ahmad Seer at his native village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday.
Mushtaq was killed on Thursday evening in brief shootout with government forces at Bandipora.
Amid pro-freedom and anti India slogans men and women walked in a huge procession towards his native village, in Malangam to participate in Mushtaq’s funeral prayers. Braving chill and bad weather, hundreds of women sang eulogies for the slain fighter while as youth shouted slogans on loudspeakers as Mushtaq was being taken for a burial.—KR
