Cop killed by firing of unknown gunmen

Kohistan—Six persons were killed when their car plunged into a ravine at the Karakoram Highway in Kohistan district on Saturday. According to sources, the car was on its way from Besham to Kohistan when near Mitha Pani at a sharp turn driver lost its control and as a result the car plunged into a ravine.
Six people including women were killed; all belonged to Pattan area of Kohistan. Initial investigations of police say that the accident occurred due to over-speeding and the negligence of driver.
Peshawar: Unknown gunmen shot dead a policeman in Faqirabad area of Peshawar on Saturday. Fazal Subhan, a police constable, was targeted near Shahi Bagh early in the morning on Saturday by gunmen riding a motorbike.
Attackers fled the scene after firing. Police have launched a search operation in the area to arrest the accused. Police said apparently it is a target killing and this is second such incident in the current week.
Lakki Marwat: At least three people including two women were killed in firing of armed men over minor domestic dispute between two families here on Saturday. Police said that after exchange of hot words over differences between two families armed men opened fire at opponents killing two women among three in Dalu Khel area of Lakki Marwat.
The murderers managed to escape after committing the triple murder and the bodies were shifted to hospital for postmortem. The police after registering a case against the culprits at respective police station started raids for their arrest.—INP
