Islamabad—Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police arrested the gang leader involved in looting overseas citizens coming from abroad by portraying him as government official of security departments.
A police spokesman said on Wednesday said that as per directives of high police officials, SIU supervised by SP Investigation Capt (Retd.) Muhammad Ilyas constituted a team under the supervision of Bashir Noon, DSP CIA, Islamabad.
Team members consisting of SI Tehseen, ASI Tipu Sultan and six others worked hard and nabbed the ring leader of gang who was looting overseas citizens coming from abroad by portraying himself as government official of security departments.
SIU team recovered 30 bore pistol along with ammunition, blue revolving light, commando uniform along P-cap, fake wireless set sand white corolla from the nabbed persons identified as Sardar Wali s/o Lashkari Khan r/o Dhok Jellani, Bhara Kahu Islamabad.
During preliminary investigation, the accused, who is also a proclaimed offender disclosed multiple cases of money snatching from overseas in the territory of Islamabad by introducing himself as government security official.
Senior Officers appreciated good efforts of SIU team and on this arrest while SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani has announced commendation certificates along with cash reward for the police team to encourage them.
