SIU arrests 4 outlaws, recovers mobiles, cash

Islamabad—Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police Monday apprehended a gang of four pickpockets, besides recovering stolen mobile, Rs 31,000 cash, various CNICs and a used mehran car.
According to details the SIU team members comprising Sub Inspector Azam, ASI Sulman Shah, ASI Azhar Hussain and 6 others arrested the culprits included Zahid Iqbal S/O Mansab Ali r/o H/No 273 St#4 Mohalla Elah e Abad, Umer Farooq road Faisalabad; Zahid Mehmood alias Zidi s/o Zulfiqar Ali r/o Mohalla Jhugia Shab Din H/No 19 St# 8 PS Nowa Kot near Bakra Mandi, Lahore; Ramzan s/o Abdul Majeed r/o Chak No 77/HR PS city Mohalla Usman Abad, Shankiari Distt Mansehra and Babar Hussain s/o Dilbar Hussain r/o Usman Abad Shankiari Mansehra involved in pick pocketing at various busy places of twin cities.
The accused had confessed committing multiple crimes of pick pocketing during the preliminary investigations.
SSP Islamabad Sajid Kaini has appreciated the performance of SIU team and announced cash prized and certificates for team members.
He said that SIU has won great achievements in short time since its inception and said that names of good performers would be forwarded to IGP for special prizes.
According to details, On May 23, 2016 Ejaz Ahmed s/o Abdul Razaq went for prayer in Faisal Mosque where his money along CNIC and visiting cards were taken away by pick pocketers latter FIR No 204/16 was registered PS Margalla.
Arrested accused were very active in rush places like metro stations, markets, Faiz Abad bus stand. They use a Mehran car for the transportation and escape purposes.They also disclosed same sort of incidents in Distt Lahore, Okara and Rawalpindi.—APP
