All Pakistan CNG Association, Karachi Transport Itehad and Sindh CNG Association registered their protest against constant suspension in gas supply to the filling stations on Wednesday in front of Sui Southern Gas Company’s head office located near the National Stadium. Representatives of the CNG association, transporters and residents of the city joined the protest. Demonstrators raised the slogans against government policies and demanded to restore supply. A 20-membered delegation negotiated SSGC officials, where the deadlock continued without the conclusion. Gas supply to CNG stations was supposed to remain open for 12 hours on Tuesday but was suspended after eight hours, with officials citing low gas pressure. Residents of some areas including Ranchore Lines have also raised their concerns over low gas pressure or no gas supply in the apartment buildings. Coordinator All Pakistan CNG Association Sindh and Balochistan zone told “Pakistan Observer” that the multi-billion invested industry on the edge of collapse due to wrong policies of federal government. By ignoring the CNG sector, thousands of workers feared to be unemployed. Shoaib Khanjee appealed the Prime minister to intervene to resolve the issue or else they will shut the CNG stations throughout Sindh. Later on, negotiating official a senior general manager Saeed Laarik announced that the CNG will be supplied to the stations on Sunday and previous schedule will be restored from the next week
