Sindh Govt taking every step for eradication of dengue

Karachi—Sindh Government is taking every steps for the eradication of Dengue from the province in this regard Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has approved the PC-1 of the Dengue control programme.
This was stated by the Manager of the Dengue Prevention and Control Programme, Dr. Masood Ahmed Solangi. Speaking at a seminar here on Tuesday, he said that owing to awareness among the people, the cases of Dengue are on the decline.
Dr. Solangi pointed out that for fostering awareness, the Sindh Government has entered into a two-year contract with an NGO Plan International Pakistan and Reckitt Benckiser Pakistan for spreading awareness about Dengue.
He stated that the awareness drive in this regard would commence from March 30 in the province. Dr Solangi said that this year some 317 cases of Dengue were registered in the province so far. Spacial Secretary Health Sindh, Dr. Shereen Narejo, said that the provincial government is initiating a drive against Dengue under public-private partnership.
Director General Health Balochistan, Dr. Masood Mishwani, also assured support of the Balochistan Government in this regard. Fahad Ashraf and Asim Saleem also spoke on the occasion.—APP
