Justice Ahmad Ali Sheikh took oath as the 23rd chief justice of the southern province in Karachi Wednesday. Governor Mohammad Zubair administered the oath of office.
Among those present on the occasion were chief minister Murad Ali Shah, superior court judges, and senior lawyers, practicing in High and Supreme Courts.
Justice Shiekh was born on 3rd October 1961 in Larkana, did his graduation from the home town, but secured the law degree from Shah Latif University of Khairpur.
He started practicing law in 1990, and was appointed judge of the Sindh High Court on 3rd September 2009, and will remain on the apex court till 2023. He replaces Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, who has now been elevated to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
