Sindh cabinet approves removal of A.D. Khawaja from post

The Sindh Cabinet on Wednesday gave its gesture for the expulsion of Inspector General of Police (IGP) A.D. Khawaja, a representative from the chief minister’s office confirmed.

The endorsement for surrendering the administrations of the IGP to the central government came amid a bureau meeting led by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

The bureau likewise affirmed the arrangement of Additional IG Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti as the common police boss.

The decisions were made after Auditor General Sindh Barrister Zamir Ghumro advised the bureau in regards to the decision of the Sindh High Court on the matter.

Prior this week, the Sindh High Court had suspended a notice issued by the Sindh government for the evacuation of the IGP.

The SHC had suspended Dasti’s “advancement” as acting IGP, too.

The commonplace government had asked Khawaja to leave for good on Apr 1 and selected Dasti, a Grade-21 cop effectively working in the area, in his place.
