SIF celebrates Iqbal Day

Shehr-e-Iqbal Forum arranged a function at the Islamabad club to mark the Iqbal Day.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafique Ajami, a prominent scholar of Iqbaliyat delivered a lecture on Allama Iqbal’s philosophy of Self Esteem in the perspective of the 21st century. In his lecture he touched on various aspects of Allama’s philosophy and his message for the humanity and in particular the Muslims of the world. He said, Allama Iqbal’s message was relevant not only in his own times but also in the modern age.
Prof. Ajami said, emergence of Pakistan as a sovereign state was the result of Allama Iqbal’s political thought. The great poet philosopher had analysed difficult circumstances faced by the Muslims of South Asia and he came out with his vision of a separate Muslim state.
In his welcome address, president Shehr-e-Iqbal Forum Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Suddle reviewed activities of the forum and its purpose. He said, the forum is committed to promoting awareness among the people of Pakistan about the message of Allama Iqbal. He pointed to social evils prevailing in Pakistan and said that the people should turn to Allama Iqbal and Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to take inspiration from their noble examples and their teachings.
Vice President Shehr-e-Iqbal Forum, Dr. Abdul Basit presented vote of thanks on behalf of the forum.
A large number of people belonging to various segments of society attended the function.
