Central leader of Quami Watan Party (QWP) Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao on Friday called for merger of Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before the general elections of 2018. Addressing a press conference here, he said merger of FATA before 2018 general elections would enable the tribal people to have representation in national and provincial assemblies, adding it would help mitigate their sufferings of tribal people besides giving them relief. Aftab Sherpao deplored unannounced electricity loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that despite generating power more than its requirement, the province is still facing brunt of unscheduled loadshedding. KP is self-sufficient in producing gas and electricity, but still its’ residents are facing long hours of power and gas outages, he maintained.Sherpao urged the provincial government of KP to play its role in securing rights for the province and recommended the government to take up issued with centre.
Referring to Pak Afghan relations, he suggested the federal government to improve relations with Afghanistan, saying that both Islamabad and Kabul should cooperate with each other to bridge the trust deficit as it was beneficial for the people of this region. —APP
