Lahore—Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Sharif has strongly condemned the criticism of opponents over Orange Line Train project and stated that the fight against the elites who protest against the projects planned for the facility of poverty-stricken people will be continued.
Shehbaz said he could sacrifice his life for the rights of the poor people of the country, adding that he is hopeful that the Lahore High Court will do justice regarding Orange Line Train project. The government under the leadership of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is working day and night to overcome energy crisis in country, adding that China is investing $46 billion in Pakistan.
Addressing a seminar on Orange Line project at Aiwan-e-Iqbal in Lahore, Shehbaz said that the masses would cast vote in 2018 election and it would be proved that the masses would vote for orange line train or for opponents of this project.
He said the project is gift from China for the poor people of Pakistan, adding that the opponents are saying this is not gift but loan. Shehbaz said the load would be returned in 20 years time, adding that the first installment of the debt would be paid after seven years. He said that the Punjab government has paid money for the acquisition of land for the project. He said the rich enjoy all facilities but if the child of poor person becomes ill he has no transport facility to reach the hospital, adding that few opponents are protesting against the project while holding placards.
Shehbaz said that this facility is for the poor and hardworking people of the country, adding that prime minister, chief minister, governor, judges or gentry will not sit on this train, adding that he is used to travel on metro train and will continue to travel on orange line train with common people.
He said that the opponents are opposing the project, adding that he will contest the case of orange line in courts, at mountains and grounds for the poor people of the country. He said the people should pledge to support him for removing the hurdles in the way of the development and welfare projects. He said that this is war between prosperity and poverty, truth and lie, oppressor and innocent, adding that he will fight against the oppressor. Shehbaz said that 150000 people daily travel on metro bus today in Lahore.
