SHC seeks comments from PMDC into medical colleges’ admission case

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday asked the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to file comments on a petition against taking fresh tests for admissions in the government run medical colleges.
A double bench of SHC comprising Mr. Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Mr. Justice Arshad Hussain Khan resumed hearing of the constitutional petition number 7852/2017.
The deputy attorney general submitted that the matter in issue has been decided by another SHC bench comprised Mr. Justice Munib Akhtar and Mr. Justice Omar Siyal.
Pasban lawyer Farah Khan Advocate submitted that they have been initiating two grievances through this constitutional petition, adding first issue has been decided; however, the second issue of PMDC negligence is yet to be decided.
The PMDC by virtue of Regulations 2016 has decided admission criteria, fee structure and refund of fee, which is not being compiled by private medical colleges. Under law PMDC is supposed to keep any eye on such violations..—INP
