NPC organizes special lecture on Eid-Milad-un-Nabi

Key to ‘life of contentment’ and secret of success both in this world and the Hereafter lie in shaping our character in accordance with the teachings and message of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be upon Him). This was said by the renowned religious scholar, researcher and Director General Dawa Academy Dr Sohail Hassan while delivering the keynote address at a ceremony in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) here at the Aiwan-e-Quaid, Thursday. The lecture was organized by the Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC). Dr Habib-ur-Rehman Asim, Professor of Islamic Studies at International Islamic University (IIU) also spoke on the occasion.
Senior Vice Chairman of the NPC, Mian Muhammad Javed, former Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan Kanwar Dilshad Ahmed, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, M Bilal, Members of the Executive Committee NPC Nargis Nasir and Mrs Farrukh Khan, noted poet Wafa Chishti, intellectuals, scholars and students attended the lecture in good number. Dr Sohail Hassan was of the view that life and personality of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (SAW) is a role model for the entire Ummah. As a Muslim, it is our prime obligation to follow the pious life of the Prophet. Not only should we seek guidance from his life and teachings but we should also disseminate that message of eternal bliss to the entire world, he said.
About the sanctity and holiness of the Prophethood, Dr Sohail said, we should not budge an inch from our deep devotion and commitment to Prophet and be always ready to lay down our lives for that cause. He also asked the audience to send Durood-e-Pak to the Holy Prophet as much as possible.
Prof Habib-ur-Rehman Asim also highlighted salient features of the Prophet’s teachings and asked upon the audience to devote their lives to propagate Islam’s message of peace and brotherhood. He said the Holy Prophet (SAW) has awarded us three precious gifts meaning thereby Al-Kitab (Quran), Al-Meezan (Balance) and Al-Hadeed (Seeking Knowledge about treasures of the world). He made it clear that God Almighty had made and meant Islam to be the dominant religion of the world. Likewise, He wanted Man to attain perfection and guide and lead the rest of the nations and creatures. In order to attain perfection, Man should continue to struggle all his life.
NPC Chairman Dr Naeem Ghani in vote of thanks said the sole purpose of Man’s creation was to serve Humanity and to improve and better his living through positive deeds. This should be our prime object of life. At the end of the lecture poet Wafa Chishti presented his kalam and the young Naat Khwaan Muhammad Hassan presented Naat on the occasion.
