Shahbaz warns of sit-in consequences

PUNJAB Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, who normally keeps quiet on routine political issues and concentrates instead on his one-point agenda of developing the Province, has urged the people to foil designs of those organizing sit-ins. He demanded those demanding resignation of the Prime Minster to first peep into their own conscience and go for self-accountability.
The somewhat harsh statement of the Punjab CM indicates some ominous developments are going to take place after Eid when PTI and PAT have decided to go for another round of sit-ins and protests with the sole objective of power grabbing. The impatience of the two parties is nothing new as they have a history of doing whatever they can in their bid to dislodge the sitting elected Government and pave the way for their entry into power corridors. However, the policy adopted by PPP is nothing but treacherous as it negates the understanding reached with PML(N) not to become part of any plot of destabilization. PML(N) fulfilled its commitment and allowed full five years to PPP despite the fact that Zardari-led Federal Government used all tactics at its disposal to dislodge the then Punjab Government led by Mian Shahbaz Sharif. It is unfortunate that Bilawal is being misled by the likes of Aitzaz Ahsan and Qamar Zaman Kaira who have their own axes to grind against Sharif family. Therefore, Shahbaz Sharif has been forced to remind Bilawal Bhutto about proverbial corruption of PPP Government and leaders, who stashed away hundreds of billions of rupees in banks and properties abroad. People of Pakistan have also not forgotten Rental Raja and reports about kickbacks and commissions that appeared in the national and international media every other day. Therefore, the real objective of PPP is not to cleanse the society of corruption but to destabilize the Government but it must keep in mind that people of Pakistan are fed up of dirty politics of 90s.
