Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over the first meeting of board of directors of Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies here Tuesday which considered various matters relating to the institute.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies should be a unique institution with regard to promotion of Islamic teachings.
He said that the institute should be a center of knowledge in the real sense and such persons should be selected for the institute as are the best in the field.
He said that the setting up of Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies is a milestone in the promotion of teachings of the Holy Quran and Seerat-un-Nabi.
He said that the institute will have international standard facilities with regard to education and research on Quran and Uswa-e-Hasna. He said that research and publications will be given full attention in the institute. He said that Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies will be run under digital system and it will be hundred percent IT based.
The Chief Minister issued instructions for setting up a committee headed by Justice (Retd) Khalil ur Rehman for formulating committees for Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies and deal with other matters and said that most capable persons from the market should be selected for these committees.
He said that the high-level committee will set terms and conditions for the selection of the persons for the post of Executive Director and other vacancies.
Provincial Minister for Auqaf Ata Manika, Vice Chairman II Punjab Institute of Quran & Seerat Studies Justice (Retd) Khalil ur Rehman, Begum Nabira Andleeb MPA, Chairman Quran Board Punjab Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi, Riaz Husain Najfi, Vice Chancellor Punjab University, Chairman Higher Education Commission Punjab and other members of the board of directors attended the meeting.
