The elderly couple that was subjected to police torture in Multan again met with the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today along with their daughter Madiha. The Chief Minister assured them of solving their issue in accordance with the principles of justice and said that justice will be ensured.
The Chief Minister has constituted a committee to solve the matter of the elderly couple comprising of Secretary Livestock Naseem Sadiq and Commissioner and RPO Multan. This committee will submit its recommendations to solve the matter in accordance with the principles of law within next three days. This committee will also identify the responsible persons in the light of complaint of the elderly couple.
While talking with them, the Chief Minister said that action has already been taken against the ones who have maltreated you. However, if any other person is found responsible in the light of the recommendations of the committee, then he will also be prosecuted upon. The aged couple thanked the Chief Minister and said that they are thankful as immediate steps have been taken to solve our problem. Earlier, the committee headed by SMBR presented its report to the Chief Minister. SMBR, Member P&D, Additional IG (Special Branch), Secretary Livestock, DC and Commissioner Multan, Command Punjab Constabulary and other officials were also present on the occasion.
