Shabbir’s detention frustration of authorities: Qazi Yasir

Srinagar—In occupied Kashmir, noted religious scholar and the Chairman of Ummat-e-Islami, Qazi Yasir has strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Secretary General, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, describing it as frustration of the authorities.
Qazi Yasir addressing a convention of his party in Islamabad town, today, said, “There is nothing like democracy in Kashmir and people are being harassed under the barrel of the gun.”
He said that the authorities had turned Kashmir into a virtual jail as the genuine leadership of the territory had been being deliberately put behind the bars and their activities had been banned which was a sheer barbarism on the part of India. He said that Shabbir Ahmad Shah had been kept under house arrest for 56 days in 2016 and had been under detention since February 24 in Rajbagh police station, Srinagar. The authorities have no justification for such illegal detention, he added.—KMS
