Services team for World Military Volleyball C’ship announced

Peshawar—Pakistan Armed Services Team comprising players from Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy was announced here Monday to participate in the forthcoming 35th Men CISM World Military Volleyball Championship to be played at Tehran, Irfan from September 10-18, 2016.
Trials in this regard were held under the supervision of PAF Sports Control Committee headed by Chief Selector Group Captain Asghar Awan here at PAF Gymnasium. Other members of the committee include Lt. Col. Saifullah, Lt. Col. Tariq Bodla, Sqn Ldr Saif-ur-Rehman, FCPO Azhar, Flt. Lt. (Hon Retd) Qazi Mushtaq, Flt. Lt. Inam Ullah, Flt. Lt. Atif.
Talking to APP soon after announcing the team, Chief Selector Group Captain Asghar Awan disclosed that they had thoroughly monitored the performance of the players appeared in the trials and short-listed 19 players for the camp to be starting from August 8 to September 9 at the same venue under PAF Sports Board Control Committee.
The selected players include Fahad, Fayyaz, Sheraz, Faisal, Binyamin, Nadeem, Dawood, Ismail (Pakistan Air Force), Fakhar, Irfan, Farooq Haider, Waseem, Muhammad Amjad, and Usman (Pakistan Army), Abuzar, SS Abbasi, Asif Nadeem, Khalid, Usman (Pakistan Navy). Out of the total 19 players, seven have been kept in standby.—APP
