Senate passes three private members’ resolutions


ISLAMABAD :The Upper House of Parliament on Monday passed three private members’ resolutions and deferred two others appearing on the agenda.The first resolution passed by the House was moved by BNP-M Senator Jehanzeb Jamaldini which recommended that ban should be imposed on conversion of agricultural land and hills, under the administrative control of the Federal Government, into residential and commercial land.PPPP Senator Karim Ahmed Khawaja moved another resolution which was also passed by the House. It was about launching a separate channel of PTV for children to foster their interest in education, science, general knowledge and creativity and to inculcate in them the true spirit of culture, identity and ideology of Pakistan.Another resolution passed by the House was moved by PTI lawmaker Senator Mohsin Aziz which recommended the government to pay the amount of Rental Ceiling to the Government employees along with their salaries to enable them to hire private accommodations without unnecessary official bottlenecks.The Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani deferred a resolution on the request of the concerned minister which was about establishing the Pakistan Maritime Authority. Another resolution asking the government to make arrangements to set up a branch of National Bank of Pakistan at Mangal Mela of Tehsil Domail in District Bannu was also deferred on the request of relevant mover Senator Baz Muhammad Khan
