Senate condemns IHK Indian brutalities

Islamabad—Senate Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday passed a resolution condemning the Indian brutality in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
The committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Senator Professor Sajid Mir at Parliament House. The committee stated that Kashmir issue should be resolved according to the resolutions of United Nations and the Indian government should stop violations of human rights.
The committee urged the international community to come forward to play its role for resolution of Kashmir issue. The committee unanimously passed the resolution stating that Indian terror in Occupied Kashmir was a threat to peace of the region and demanded that Kashmir issue should be resolved according to wishes of Kashmiri people.
The committee discussed the current situation of Indian Occupied Kashmir on the request of Senator Raja Zafar ul Haq by putting aside its agreed agenda. Speaking about India Occupied Kashmir situation, Senator Raja Zafar ul Haq said the Indian forces brutality was continuing against Kashmiri people, adding human rights violations were not acceptable.
People of Indian Occupied Kashmir who love Pakistan, have right to decide their fate, he added. He said Kashmir issue needs world attention on urgent basis and United Nations as an international body should take notice of India forces brutality.
The committee member Senator Rehman Malik said government and opposition parties are on the same page on Kashmir issue and Indian government is violating the human rights.
He said the whole nation was standing behind Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif who should speak on Kashmir and bring facts before the International community regarding Indian Occupied Kashmir.
He said media should also focus on Indian Occupied Kashmir where Indian forces were violating human rights.
The committee member Senator Haji Momin Khan Afridi said 100 Kashmiri people were killed in Indian Occupied Kashmir by India armed forces in the recent uprising.
He said a lot of Indian people raised the voice for the Kashmiri people and asked its government to stop the killing of Kashmiri people. Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Chaudhry Barjees Tahir briefed the committee about the stand of PML-N government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Kashmir issue.
He said the Prime Minister called cabinet meeting in Lahore in which it unanimously condemned the killing of innocent Kashmiri people.
He said PML-N government observed black day on 20 July for solidarity with Kashmiri people. He said 500,000 people were killed by Indian forces but Kashmiri people continued fighting for their right of freedom.
The minister said government was taking all steps to raise the issue of Kashmir, adding people of Kashmir show their love with Pakistan on all important occasions.
He said fifth generation of Kashmiris was standing for their rights to get freedom from India. He assured the committee that PML-N government under the leadership of Prime Minister will come up to all expectations of the nation regarding Kashmir issue.—APP
