Islamabad—A seminar titled “ADKAR: A Change Management Competency Model for Quality Assurance in Higher Education Institutions” was organized at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) on the 17th of May, 2016 by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of the University.
PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad was the chief guest and the speaker of the seminar was Dr Almas Kiani, Associate Professor of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences, Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi.
Dr Kiani presented a goal-oriented change management model “ADKAR” to guide individual and organizational change. The Model represents five outcome competency milestones an individual must achieve for change to be successful: awareness, desire, knowledge, ability and reinforcement. These five enablers of change play significant role in assuring quality in higher education institutions. It was concluded that the quality of Higher Education institutions can only be assured through managing the challenges of educational changes within the context of globalized knowledge.
