Seminar on Food Security, export of vegetable held

Rawalpindi—A seminar on Food Security and Export of Vegetable was organized here on Tuesday by Department of Horticulture, Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agiculture Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), aimed at raising public awareness about food security.
The speakers addressing the participants said that food security is one of the main challenges that world is facing today and emphasized that Pakistan needs to acquire new technologies and adopt good agricultural practices for production to ensure food security for the public at large.
They urged that agriculture innovations, new varieties and all other technologies must be shared among the farmers to develop agriculture on modern lines. PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad was the chief guest while Ms. Renate Pors, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Netherlands was the guest of Honor. A large number of faculty members, students, farmers and researchers were also present on the occasion.—APP
