Seminar on Chikungunya, medical camp for Osteoporosis held at SSU HQs

Seminar on Chikungunya and Dengue Virus and free Medical Camp for Sugar and Osteoporosis Tests were jointly organized by Dr. Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre at Special Security Unit (SSU) Headquarters (HQs) here on Monday.
Commandant SSU, Mr. Maqsood Ahmed accompanied by Managing Director (MD) Dr. Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre Dr. FarhanEssa Abdullah visited the camp. Mr. Maqsood Ahmed said that the better health and physical fitness will always help the commandos to effectively take part in the operations against the terrorists and hardened criminals. He also thanked the management of the Dr. Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre for arranging the Seminar and medical Camp in the Headquarters.
While addressing the seminar, Dr. Alia Abbas said that Chikungunya is the virus cause by fever and joint pain typically occurs 2-12 days after exposure. The virus is spread between people by two types of mosquitoes that is Aedes Albopictus and Aedes Aogypti, they bite during the day time. The symptoms can be mistaken for those of Dengue fever and Zika fever. The best means of prevention is over all mosquito control.
Addressing the seminar, Dr. Samar highlighted the importance of awareness about causes of Dengue Virus and prevention.
Over 900 tests of Sugar and Osteoporosis were conducted at the camp while a large number of senior officers including commandos have also attended the Seminar.
From Dr. Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre, Tasleem Mukhtar, Shahid Khan, Arif Siddiqui, Farhan Bukhari, Amna Ansari, Mohsin Ahmed, Falak Naz and Sharjeel Hussain participated in the seminar and medical camp.
