CM reviews pace of public welfare projects
Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting which reviewed the pace of implementation of public welfare projects in the province. The Chief Minister said that selfless service to the masses is the mission of the government.
He said that work is being carried out expeditiously on various public welfare projects in the province. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government has promoted the culture of transparency, high quality and speed in the completion of development projects. He said that not only local but international institutions are also acknowledging the transparent policy of the government.
Shehbaz Sharif said that Punjab government is following the policy of balanced development of rural and urban areas. He said that a big project of repair and rehabilitation of rural roads is being implemented speedily which will greatly benefit rural economy. Shehbaz Sharif said that ‘Pakkiyan Sarkan Saukhay Painday’ programme is a game changer for rural population. He said that work is being carried out on projects of improvement of education and health facilities besides supply of potable water with a cost of billions of rupees and a high standard is being ensured in the execution of development projects.
He said that government has introduced various reforms for improving education and health facilities. He said that there will be no shortage of resources for providing best education and health facilities as well as supply of drinking water to the citizens during next two and a half years and the journey of selfless service to the masses will be continued under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Minister of State for Health Saira Afzal Tarar met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that provision of modern health facilities to the citizens is the top priority of the government and funds of billions of rupees have been provided for extending healthcare to the masses. He said that provision of quality medical facilities to the people is a useful investment for the setting up of a healthy society.
He said that availability of free medicines in hospital is greatly benefitting the patients. He said that basic reforms have also been introduced for improvement of public health facilities.
Minister of State for Health Saira Afzal Tarar commended the performance of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif with regard to revolutionary measures for ensuring quality public health facilities to the masses and said that under his leadership there is a substantial improvement in health sector in Punjab.
