SEF appreciates ICBC’s support

karachi-— Sindh Education Foundation (Govt. of Sindh) hosted an event to mark distribution of schoolbag packages by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) among students of Shaheed Jam Fellowship School, supported by the Foundation under SEF Assisted Schools (SAS) Program.
Mr. Mu Yongpeng (Acting Consul General of China in Karachi), Mr. Wang Zhihua (Counselor of Commercial Division, General Consulate of China in Karachi), Mr.Gao Yanhua (Secretary, General Consulate of China in Karachi), Ms. Li Xiaomeng (Secretary, Commercial Division, General Consulate of China in Karachi); Mr. He Shenghu (CEO, ICBC), Mr. Xu Qiang (Head of HR & GA Dept., ICBC), Mr. Yu Rui (Deputy Head of HR and GA Dept. ICBC), Mr. Muhammad Naseem (Manager of HR & GA Dept., ICBC); Ms. Naheed S. Durrani (Managing Director, SEF), Dr. Khalil-ur-Rahman (Director, HR, SEF), Mr. Rafique Mustafa Shaikh (Director, Programs and Planning), and Ms. Shahpara Rizvi (Director, Technical Units) were present on the occasion
The ceremony was held at the SEF Head Office in which Mr. Yongpeng and Mr. Shenghu distributed 200 school packages comprising school bag, lunch box, water bottle and pencil box among children in the presence of SEF management, teachers, school operator and media representatives.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yongpeng reaffirmed pledge to help strengthen Pakistan’s economy through various mega projects. He specially referred to CPEC being one of the major economic project of an extremely high magnitude was critical for the economic wellbeing of the country as well as the entire region, he said. The Acting Consul General further said, “I have served for so many years in Pakistan that I feel more Pakistani than Chinese. During my long stay here, I have been impressed by the intelligence of the people”. The smile of the faces of these children symbolizes a bright future of the nation.” He also told the forum that support from Chinese companies would increase in the near future in Education sector as well.
Mr. He Shenghu, CEO of ICBC briefed the participants on establishment of ICBC in 1984 and its restructuring to a join-stock limited company in 2005. CSR initiatives are an integral part of the management strategy and social development programs of the bank. ICB’s CEO appreciated the role of the SEF saying, SEF has been making its contribution (in the Education sector) and is committed to educating and empowering children and communities by improving the educational facilities. Outlining ICBC’s future cooperation with SEF, Mr. Shenghu said, “ICBC Pakistan will continue to be a partner of the SEF in this cause and will help spread the light of education, especially, in remote areas of Sindh Province.”
