Security strengthened further in province after suicide attack

Lahore—Inspector General Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera Monday directed further enhanced security in the province in the wake of suicide attack in city. While talking to this scribe, he said that he had directed all regional, city and district police officers across the province to remain highly alert and ensure foolproof security, and maintain law and order in their respective areas.
The IGP directed police officers to take effective precautionary measures, especially in crowded public places, to prevent incidents of terrorism and subversion and ordered deployment of plain clothes police where necessary.
He ordered intensified patrolling around railway stations, bus terminals, bus stops, markets, cinema halls, hotels, mosques, imambargahs, churches and other important places of big cities. Police officers have been directed to utilise all the available resources and their best professional skills to maintain vigil over the activities of suspected persons, and dubious elements.
IG police urged the people to cooperate with the police in this regard, saying that in case they find any unclaimed object or see a suspicious person or shady activity they must immediately inform police emergency and Rescue 15 to prevent any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG, Capt Muhammad Amin Vaince and Regional Police Officers, Sargodha DIG Zulfiqar Hameed directed the SSP (Operation), DPOs of Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Pakpattan, Sahiwal and Okara to further strengthen the security to frustrate evil designs of anti-people, anti-state and unscrupulous elements.
