Section 144 imposed during Muharram

Naushehro Feroze—Government of Sindh has imposed section 144 in whole the province to maintain law and order situation during month of Muharram.
The Deputy Commissioner Naushehro Feroze Dr. Waseem Ali said that carrying of weapons, misuse of loud speakers, provocative wall chalking, delivering of hate speeches, displaying of banners, posters and playing of video and audio cassettes containing of hate speeches were strictly prohibited.
Meanwhile, it is reported from Faisalabad that District Coordination Officer (DCO) Salman Ghani has strictly prohibited the pillion-riding in the district on 7th day of Muharramul Haraam (Sunday).
A spokesman for the city district government told here on Saturday that the ban on pillion-riding was imposed under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) due to security arrangements on 7th of Muharram.
However, females and children under 12 years of age will be exempted from this order.—APP
