Scattered rain thunderstorm with strong gusty winds expected

Islamabad—Scattered rain-thundershower with strong gusty winds is expected in upper areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), while heavy rain fall is expected at isolated places in next 24 hours. According to an official of Met office, that rain-thunderstorm is forecast at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat divisions and Islamabad while isolated heavy rain falls is likely in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Islamabad.
Rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is also expected at scattered places in Hazara, Malakand divisions, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan however, hot and dry weather to prevail elsewhere in the country. An official of Met office told APP that seasonal low lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending eastward. Strong moist currents from Arabian sea are continuously penetrating in upper/eastern parts and Kashmir and likely to continue during next 48 days.
In last 24 hours weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country.
Rainfall recorded during last 24 hours remained Lahore (City 05mm, AP 02mm). Maximum Temperatures recorded on Wednesday were Dalbandin, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sibbi, Kohat 46øC, Bhakkar, Jacobabad, Turbat, R.Y.Khan 45øC, Islamabad 41øC, Lahore 43øC, Karachi 34øC, Peshawar 42øC, Quetta 40øC and Kalat 34øC.—APP
