SC to hear case regarding illegal transplantation of human organs

Islamabad—The three-member bench of the apex court comprising Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain would hear the suo-moto case regarding illegal transplantation of human organs on Wednesday (Oct 5).
It is pertinent to mention that Dr Adeebul Hassan of Pakistan Society for Transplantation had written a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, pointing out names of two hospitals wherein cases pertaining to the problems being faced by either the donors and the patients, in the transplantation process of human organs, were highlighted.
During the previous hearing on August 30, the apex court issued notices to respondents on an application against harassing of hospital administration in the name of court orders.
The chief justice remarked that the court had not issued any order for taking action against anyone. Advocate Aslam Khaki pleaded the court to issue orders for stoppage of investigation.
The chief justice remarked that neither the court issued orders for investigation nor it would issue orders for stoppage of any investigation.—APP
