SBCA formulates comprehensive policy

Karachi—The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) here on Tuesday claimed to have ‘formulated a comprehensive policy to ameliorate the built environment and infrastructure of the city and curb unauthorized construction.’
The organization further maintained that it has enabled people approach the Director General Agha Masood Abbas ‘easily and redress their complaints’. Agha Maqsood Abbas has declared Wednesday as general public hearing day where the officials concerned are available from 2.00 to 5.00PM.
So as to decrease load of infrastructure on old system he directed that commercialization policy be reviewed the Master Plan in an effort to make sure that no load be put on the previous water and sewerage structure for up-gradation of Infrastructure and betterment charges are to be recovered from builders to be enhanced.
A committee has been formed to recommend the policy and rates. A SBCA statement on Tuesday said that Agha Maqsood is keenly supervising many other projects including work on proposals for digitalization of Master Plan of Karachi through GIS: plot-wise digitalization through GIS; archiving and digitalization of old record of SBCA.
