Salman reviews anti-polio arrangements

Rawalpindi—Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafiq on Tuesday visited different localities in the city and Cantonment and reviewed arrangements made for success of Polio campaign.
Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Dr Arshad Ali Sabir accompanied the advisor during his visit to Holy Family Hospital, Airport road area, Chaklala cantt area and administerd polio drops to children below five years of age.
The five-day anti-polio campaign, which began in all tehsils and towns of Pindi district entered second day on Tuesday.
The advisor informed that the immunization campaign was in full swing.
Under the drive, he said, that 1950 polio teams, 396 area incharges, 204 medical officers, allied hospitals and tehsil headquarter hospitals were participating in the drive.
During the campaign, he said, 811,708 children would be administered polio drops.
The advisor proposed the parents to come forward and play their due role in ensuring vaccination of their children to eliminate the crippling disease.—APP
