‘Safe drinking water top priority of govt’

Lahore—Provision of safe drinking water to people of far flung districts and tehsils across the province is a top priority of the Punjab government. This was stated by Chairman Punjab Saaf Pani Company (PSPC) Kashif Padhiar while inaugurating a solar-fitted Reverse Osmosis water filtration plant in village Puggal, tehsil Bahawalnagar on Thursday.
The government had launched this project from South Punjab where 80 water filtration plants had been installed in Lodhran, Hasilpur, Dunyapur, Khanpur and Minchanabad tehsils to provide safe drinking water to more than 250,000 locals, he said.
“The Punjab government has accorded the highest priority to the provision of safe drinking water to people of the province and for this purpose it had established Punjab Saaf Pani Company,” Kashif Padhiar said, adding that the project was of vital importance for public health.—APP
