SACP, Unicef organize family health day to mark Women’s Day

Karachi—The Sindh AIDS Control Program (SACP), of Health Department of Sindh in collaboration with UNICEF on Wednesday organised two family health day activities to mark the World Women Day here.
The activities were organised at the Sindh Government Dispensary Sultanabad and Rural Health Centre Kemari, the spokesman SACP told APP.
In this regard, the Lady Health Workers (LHWs) were imparted training about HIV counselling and testing services besides verbal screening. Over 700 women and girls visited the camp and were provided awareness along with relevant material and pamphlets at SACP.
As many as 81 women got tested for HIV at Sulatanabad and 56 at RHC Kemari. District Health Officer West, Dr. Tahir Azizi inaugurated the event. He said that this event has created awareness among the population of Keamari town and other areas. He said that many people specially women and girls availed the facility of HIV testing and received awareness lectures.—APP
